Hey, all -
That record'g that u r all buzz'g about [Vin - '84] - I HAD a copy of 1 of that yrs. VC clinics [fr. Tampa, FL, USA, Thoroughbred Music @ that time, now Sam Ash, w/ Tim Landers on bass]. I had taped it because I WAS THERE. Just 3 or so days later after tap'g the show, I VERY RELUCTANTLY lent the tape to a good friend of mine [guitarist], who promplty took it to a party where it was LOST 4-ever [he was attempt'g 2 "enlighten the common format-radio listeners"]. I hadn't even listened 2 the whole tape yet. But what was on it fr. that eve. was absolutely MONSTEROUS! Needless 2 say, that friend felt so badly about it that he bought Zappa's 'Shut Up 'n' Play Yer Guitar' triple album set & gave it 2 me. It is smokin' drummin', but still not a fair trade, but he tried. It was either that, die fr. remorse, or die @ the hands of a severe beat'g brought on by said drummer friend [me].
Anyway, the clinic was STUPENDOUS, Vinnie blew the friggin' roof off the joint w/ some of his most out & aggressive no-holds-barred play'g TO DATE [a couple of fellow drummer friends who are now play'g w/ major acts, 1 in Nashville, were in attendance @ the show & u could here us screamin' w/ bisbelief.] You gotta know, VC was play'n like that back in the mid-to-late SEVENTIES. A lot of us r STILL learn'g fr. that guy - I still can't play all-around like some of the stuff he was doin BACK THEN [Altho I do understand the concepts now & can play somewhat in that veign, but @ the time it was way over the head of my play'g ability.] Am I say'g I can hang w/ Vinnie?! NO WAY!!! 1 day, hopefully, maybe - if i keep on practicing my everluvin rear off.
Anyway, those 2 friends have a copy of that orig. show, & I'm am going 2 try 2 get a copy fr. 1 or both of them if poss. I'll keep u posted.

Sorry, 1 thing i forgot - i'll keep it short this time - if there is 1 thing that i've learned since that time [re: my above/1st post] is: ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR RECORD'G'S B4 EVER LOAN'G THEM OUT [DUH.]!!! & then let 'em borrow the copy!!
